So the only way to start feeling motivated is to actually start doing the work. "Of course you don't feel like doing it...it's because you haven't begun it!" The author gives an example of cleaning your room - even though you don't feel like cleaning at first, once you begin, you start to really "get into it" and before you know it your room is totally clean.
While it's counterintuitive to think that motivation comes after beginning the work, it's easy to experience the truth of this when you clean your room, wash your car, or work on a big project at work.
